This course helps continuity practitioners understand continuity roles and provide the tools necessary to develop a continuity plan

Course locationIn person location: Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM)3930 Fairview Industrial Dr SE Salem OR 973022-day Course February 18-19, 2026Course Description:The goal of this course is to help continuity practitioners understand continuity roles and responsibilities, and provide the knowledge sets, skills, and tools necessary to help develop and maintain a viable continuity plan for their organization and community.Course Objectives<ul><li>Describe National Continuity Policy, continuity guidance, directives, and background.</li><li>Identify the roles and responsibilities of key personnel involved in developing and maintaining a continuity plan.</li><li>Describe the essential function identification process.</li><li>Describe how to conduct a Business Process Analysis (BPA) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA).</li><li>Identify mitigation options to reduce an organization's risk and key planning elements to support those options.</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts and strategies for developing and maintaining a viable continuity plan.</li></ul>Prerequisites<ul><li><a href="https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-1300.a&amp;lang=en" title="https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-1300.a&amp;lang=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">IS-1300.a: Introduction to Continuity</a></li></ul>Attendance:Per FEMA standards, no more than 10% absenteeism is allowed to receive a certificate of completion.Accessibility Requests and Questions:If you have any questions, or to request any reasonable accommodations that will facilitate your full participation in this training, please contact the OEM Training Program (oem.training@oem.oregon.gov).
