Food Safety Certification Training for Retail Food Managers

This class takes place over two days

  • Day 1: Monday, March 16th 8:30am-5pm
  • Day 2: Tuesday, March 17th 8:30am-5pm

The class will be held at the Iredell County Agricultural Center located at the following address:

  • 444 Bristol Drive Statesville, NC 28677

The exam will be given March 17th. Examinees will need to provide their own laptop/computer to take the exam.

Registration fee includes textbook and testing fees

We will break for lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 each day.

Attendees can bring their own drinks and snacks to enjoy in class.

Information:

Safe Plates is a food safety training course developed by NC State University. Certification is based on passing a CFP-ANSI accredited exam from the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals. Passing this exam satisfies the FDA Model Food Code requirement for a certified food protection manager. Who should attend? This is a comprehensive program for food service managers and supervisory staff in restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other food handling establishments.

The course will be taught in English and the book and handout materials are available in English only. The Food Safety Manager Certification test is available in English, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Spanish. Requests for testing materials in a language other than English must be made by March 2, 2026.
