Remembering Rob Reiner - Stand By Me (1986) - 40th Anniversary
A coming-of-age classic returns. STAND BY ME on the big screen for its 40th anniversary with vintage commercials and winery vibes.
Vintage View Cinemas and The Wine Collective present Stand By Me—a special 40th Anniversary screening and the final installment of our Remembering Rob Reiner series, honoring the enduring legacy of director Rob Reiner.
Adapted from a story by Stephen King, Stand By Me is a deeply moving coming-of-age film about friendship, memory, and the fleeting moment between childhood and adulthood. Tender, funny, and quietly devastating, it remains one of the most personal and universally resonant films of the 1980s—and one of Reiner’s most cherished works.
This Wednesday evening screening features a curated preshow at 6:00pm, followed by the feature presentation at 7:00pm, alongside all-night happy hour courtesy of The Wine Collective.
The film will be presented in high definition, accompanied by Vintage View Cinemas’ signature vintage commercial breaks, curated to evoke nostalgic home-viewing vibes while remaining respectful of the film’s emotional tone and legacy.
Seating is first-come, first-served in an intimate, candlelit winery setting.
Popcorn, Candy, Nachos provided by Vintage View Cinemas. Wine and Tapas provided by The Wine Collective.
18+ suggested.
Every ticket supports the ongoing creation of a permanent microcinema in our city.
I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. See ya at showtime.
