Children will assemble pasta kits and create messages of caring for New Americans supported by Festa
Who this Anywhere Project is for:
Ages 4-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.
What you'll be doing:
Help welcome New American families in our community! Children will gain empathy for the refugee experience through a read aloud and age-appropriate discussion. Then, helping hands will assemble pasta kits and create messages of caring for families supported by Festa.
When you'll be doing it:
This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!
This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate until the project ends on March 1st. Donations may be porch-dropped to a Seeds of Caring Ambassador in Grandview, Grove City, Dublin, or Westerville from 9am-7pm February 27-March 1. Addresses will be provided in your service packet.
How it all works:
Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.
Is this your first Seeds of Caring Anywhere Project? Check out this video to learn how it all works.
The meaning-making:
Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on New Americans and kindness.
Approximate Cost:
Approximately $7 per kit including 2 packages of pasta, 1 jar of meat-free sauce, and 1 container of shelf-stable parmesean (optional). A complete list of supplies will be included in your service packet. Messages of caring can be created with craft supplies on hand or from the printable template provided in the service packet.
Why you'll be invited to donate:
Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
This service opportunity is made possible through the generous support of The Center for HumanKindness and The Walter Foundation.
