ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Jeneva Wright is a maritime archaeologist with a professional background in environment-cultural heritage interactions, public-private research development, and strategic planning. She currently serves as the Innovation Development Lead for the U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s Partnerships and Innovation Directorate; previous roles have included leading underwater cultural heritage research on the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, serving as the inaugural U.S. National Park Service Archaeologist for Climate Change, and supporting DPAA as lead archaeologist for underwater partner development and field operations. She holds a PhD from the University of Miami in Environmental Science and Policy and an MA from East Carolina University. She is on the Advisory Board for the Scripps Center for Maritime Archaeology for Scripps Institution of Oceanography and serves as Chair of the Advisory Council for Underwater Archaeology. She lives in Montana with her husband, child, and oversized cat.
