An Introduction to Northern Wu style Tai Ji Quan: The Art of The Manchurian Palace Guard.

Wu Style is one of the 5 traditional styles of Tai Chi and is sometimes known as the style for spinal health because of the emphasis on expanding and relaxing the joints of the body, especially the vertebrae during each posture, and the use of the unique Ox-Plough stance.

Northern Wu style is the oldest version of Wu style and comes from Beijing. In this 1 day workshop we'll be exploring the Principles of Wu style Taiji as expressed through several of the major postures including Brush Knee, Wave Hands Like Clouds, The Guard, Grasp Sparrows Tail, and Golden Rooster stands on One leg.

There are 7 basic principles in Northern Wu style Taiji Quan. They are Internal Posture, Breathing, Vision and Mind Set, Continuous Movement, Compression and expansion, Lengthening, and the Harmony of Opposites.

11 am - 1 pm; $50 per person and $90 for a couple.
