Joie Yvonne, a Washington, D.C.-bred soulful singer and dancer blends dance and music through her rhythmically-driven, yet groovy style inspired by her unique upbringing in the arts. Her passion for music and dance began in church, where she was mentored by her father and aunt in the choir and dance ministry. She received her classical dance training at the Jones-Haywood Dance School under Sandra Fortune-Green, performing works by Hinton Battle, Sonia Dawkins, Brandye Lee, Paula Brown, Louis Johnson, among others. This class centers smooth transitions, grounded movement, and musicality that melts into the pocket.Class begins with a brief warm-up to refine balance, coordination, and muscle control in heels, followed by choreography focused on clean lines, grooves, struts, hair whips, and floor work.Designed for dancers with prior heels experience who are ready to embody grace, poise, and grown-woman ease as they glide across the floor with confidence in their self-expression.✨ Heels are required for this class, knee pads are optional.
