About the World Sheepdog Trials : The International Sheep Dog Society manages the World Sheepdog Trials which are scheduled every 3 years, planned next for September 2026. 300 handler/dog teams will be participating including 6 from Canada and11 teams from the USA.
About Fiona McMillan: Fiona McMillan has been active in sheep farming and trialing all of her life, starting to run sheepdogs from the age of 12. She won the Young Handlers competition at the 1987 International and appeared on One Man and His Dog when only 16 years old. In conjunction with a career in law enforcement, Fiona has been deeply involved in organizing major trialling events in Scotland and has held leadership roles in the ISDS, culminating in her position Scottish National President - the first female to hold a president role in the organization. In addition, she is the Event Chair for the 2026 World Trial. NEBCA members may remember meeting Fiona who has come over to judge in Canada and US several times.
