Workshop: Dual Timelines & Multiple Points of View: Denny S. Bryce

Kimpton Canary HotelSanta Barbara, CA
Sunday, May 3 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Overview

Learn to craft layered stories using dual timelines and multiple POVs, with practical tools to build tension, depth, and cohesion.

Explore the art of layered storytelling in this lively workshop designed to help writers craft complex narratives. Whether you’re new to the technique or want to deepen your skills, this class provides practical tools for weaving dual and multiple timelines and points of view into a cohesive, compelling story. Participants will examine a variety of timeline structures—including call-and-response, parallel, converging, alternating, interwoven, and hidden timelines—and summarize how each can enhance tension, theme, and emotional resonance. By the end of the workshop, writers will have a clearer understanding of the power of dual timelines and multiple POVs and how to shape stories that feel seamless and engaging.
