Come one, come all! Test your luck at esoteric & historic, family-friendly games of chance & skill!

On the third evening of the week of every moon (third Wednesday of the month) PRS shuffles tarot cards, rolls many-sided dice & advances mystical pieces along ancient gameboard recreations at our monthly community gathering in the bookstore, PRS Esoteric Game Night!

Each month we feature & play a family-friendly card, board or parlour game of esoteric or historic note.

OCTOBER'S GAME

The Return of the Night of the ESP Tournament

Make sure your otherworldly telephone is fully charged & get your favorite psi scientist or guinea pig cos-tomb ready because Esoteric Game Night is hosting our third annual contest of clairvoyance... & this time it's scaaary!

Based on the famous 1930s experiments in the then newly founded Parapsychology Laboratory at Duke University & most widely seen in the original Ghostbusters, this two-on-two, round-robin extra-sensory perception tournament uses the cards designed by perceptual psychologist Karl Zener, a.k.a. Zener cards (a circle, a plus sign, three wavy lines, a square & a five-pointed star), to test your telepathic talents.

HOW TO PLAY

You already know. Each two-player team takes turns selecting one of the five Zener cards & holding it out so that their partner cannot see. That partner then attempts to read their teammate's mind & pick the correct card.

The prize: a 25-card Zener deck to share. But again, you already knew that.If you don't have a partner, sign up anyway. You'll probably meet someone with whom you have a deep psychic connection.

So come, make new friends, learn to read their minds & be terrified by the results!
