Today, the Modern Sporting Rifle, built around the AR platform, is the most common in the USA. Yet despite this widespread popularity, many Americans don’t understand the importance of properly setting up and using ARs in self-defensive situations.

In this class, you will learn the following:

• Set up, including what is necessary and unnecessary accessories
• How to tear down, clean, and lubricate
• How to make repairs and essential spare parts
• The importance of a sling, its positioning, and its use
• Administrative actions - clearing, loading, and unloading
• Stance, grip, and body positioning
• Correct sighting and zeroing
• How to load and reload correctly
• Proper trigger press
• Clearing malfunctions
• Where to make hits on a threat
• Communication with partners and threats

In the Fundamentals of the AR-15 class, you will need the following:

• Eye and ear protection plugs and electronic muffs are preferred (available for purchase)
• 100 rounds of ammo for your rifle (available for sale at the range)
• Proper clothing - long pants, shoes, and no low-cut shirts
• A working AR-style rifle (subject to inspection)
• A 2-point sling (available for purchase)
• At least three magazines (available for sale)
• Sights for your rifle, irons, red dot, or holographic (available for sale)
• Adjustment tools for your sights

The following will NOT be allowed in class:

• Bolt catch levers (BAD Lever, etc.)
• Muzzle compensators

REFUND POLICY

• REFUNDS 7 DAYS BEFORE CLASS: You may request an automatic refund up to seven (7) days before class. In this case, your ticket will be refunded, less the Eventbrite fee, to the payment method initially used. Instead of a refund, you may call and request that we transfer your ticket to an alternative date at no additional charge.

• NO REFUNDS FOR MISSED CLASS: Tickets cannot be refunded after the seven-day refund window has passed because the instructor is paid even if you do not attend.
• HALF-PRICE MAKEUP TICKET: If you missed class, you may call for a discount code to buy a half-price makeup ticket for a future class.
