When: Sunday, March 15th | 1–5pm | Check-in and software setup starts at 12:30pm

Where: Serendipity Labs - Los Angeles Wilshire 915 Wilshire Blvd 7th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90017, USA. Just minutes away from the LA convention center.

How to get there from the LA Convention Center: Take Metro Line A or E from Pico to 7th Street/Metro Station (one stop), then walk 5 minutes to Flower Street and turn left onto Wilshire Blvd. and enter the building labeled '915'.

Description: Bring your own laptop and join us for an in-person hands-on workshop exploring how to simulate and optimize CPO- and LPO-based transceiver design for intra data center systems using VPIphotonics Design Suite. You will learn to:

  • Model photonic components for Co-Packaged Optics and full systems for Linear Pluggable Optics
  • Assess and mitigate performance-limiting effects using DSP and ML techniques
  • Analyze the behavior of SiP-based PICs for a PAM-4 WDM data center link

This interactive workshop includes a 4-hour session of lectures, guided labs, and independent work with 1-on-1 support. Attendees will be provided access to the software in a cloud-based environment using their private laptops.

This training targets students, early-stage professionals, engineers, and researchers who want to learn how to utilize a professional simulation and design environment. Basic knowledge of the various transmission systems' technologies, concepts, and methodologies is helpful.

What You’ll Get:

  • Direct access to VPIphotonics Design Suite via cloud and remote desktop connection
  • Practical experience designing and analyzing transmission systems based on recommendations from standardization committees or multi-source agreements (MSAs)
