Join Save Orange Hills and our partners at We Explore Earth for a community hike and trail cleanup at Black Star Canyon. This experience combines a scenic, moderately challenging hike with hands-on stewardship to help protect and care for this beautiful natural area. We’ll move together as a group, pick up trash along the trail, and enjoy time outdoors while giving back to the land. Meet-Up Time: 6:30 AMHike Begins: 7:00 AM sharp Trail Information: Black Star Canyon, approximately 7.0 miles round-trip. Difficulty level is moderate to hard with elevation gain and uneven terrain. Meet Location:13333 Black Star Canyon Rd, Silverado, CA 92676. When driving up Black Star Canyon Road, take the left road and continue until it ends at the gravel parking lot. That is where we will meet. Parking: Free parking is available in the gravel lot. Please arrive early, carpool when possible, and be respectful of the area. Restrooms: There are no restrooms available on this trail. Please plan accordingly. What to Bring: Hiking backpack, water (2–3 liters recommended), snacks, comfortable hiking shoes, headlamp or flashlight, sweater or jacket, trekking poles (highly recommended), and be prepared for a chance of getting wet at creek crossings depending on recent weather. This is a free, community-led hike and cleanup. Participants are responsible for assessing their own readiness and hiking safely. Please practice Leave No Trace principles and help us leave the trail better than we found it. Space is limited to keep the group safe and effective during the cleanup.
