Overview

This beginner skate camp is for girls, trans, and nonbinary youth to explore the fundamentals of skateboarding in a femme-centered space.

GRLZ Skate Camp | Ages 8-14 | July 14-17 | 9 AM - 12 PM

“Drop in” to the skatepark and explore the fundamentals of skateboarding in a welcoming, supportive environment that prioritizes comfort, confidence, and community. This beginner skate camp is designed for girls, femmes, and nonbinary participants (who feel comfortable in a femme-centered space) to develop foundational skateboarding skills while being supported every step of the way.

Participants will learn proper stance, balance, pushing, and how to move confidently on a skateboard, all in a space that values lived experience and encourages growth at each individual’s pace. No prior experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided, but if you have your own board and/or helmet, feel free to bring it.

Each participant will receive one camp t-shirt for the week and one snack each day. A signed waiver is required to attend camp. Please sign our waiver before arriving for camp: https://bit.ly/thebaywaiver.

In order to ensure equal accessibility for all youth, our camps operate on a pay-what-you-can (PWYC) model, with a suggested donation of $150. The Bay is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on community support and grants to sustain our programs. If your family is able to contribute at or above the suggested amount, you’re not just investing in your child — you’re making it possible for another young person to access the same transformative experience. Every contribution directly strengthens our ability to provide high-quality programs for all youth, regardless of their financial circumstances.
