Keeping in the Shadows is a visually rich surf odyssey, moving between moody, dramatic landscapes and glowing, dream-like sunset sessions. Between travel chaos, early mornings, and long days in the water, the film opens up space for intimate, unscripted conversations, moments of humor, reflection, and honesty that give each section its own pulse and personality.

The film follows Noah Wegrich on a globe-spanning journey through five distinct countries. Along the way, he’s joined by an eclectic crew of our favorite surfers who also happen to be some of our closest friends - the kind of crew where talent runs deep, but camaraderie runs even deeper. This crew includes Nat Young, Tanner Gudauskas, Pat Gudauskas, Brendon Gibbons, Torren Martyn, Bryce Baker, Parker Coffin, Cliff Kapono, Ian Crane, Wilem Banks, Noah Lane, Conor Maguire, Ben Coffey, Jordy Maree, and Gearoid Mcdaid.

The film is an ode to the surf films I grew up watching. It’s the idea of working on something that feels sacred and full of novelty, something we can fully give ourselves to, yet also step away from when needed. Taking time to think, to live, and then returning with a clearer, fresher perspective. Letting the work breathe.

It’s about moving slowly with something that holds deep meaning, instead of chasing attention spans or measuring relevance by other people’s standards. We’re not reacting, we’re listening. Going at our own pace, moving to the beat of our own drum, creating with purpose, and letting curiosity build naturally.

So Keeping in the Shadows means a lot of different things. At its core, it’s about holding things close, making art with intention, and staying true to why we started doing this in the first place.
