Overview

a free community event focused on maternal mental health, self-advocacy in medical spaces, and access to supportive prenatal and postpartum

Hosted by ITAVFoundation, Maternal Support & Education Day 2026: Beyond Delivery is a free community event focused on maternal mental health, self-advocacy in medical spaces, and access to supportive prenatal and postpartum care.

At ITAVFoundation, we have seen how often mothers are expected to navigate physical recovery, emotional changes, and complex medical systems on their own once they leave the hospital. This event exists to address those gaps and to remind mothers that care, support, and advocacy do not end at delivery.

This year’s programming centers on real challenges mothers face, being dismissed in medical settings, struggling with prenatal or postpartum depression, and lacking access to services that support recovery and healing after birth.

2026 Focus Areas

  • Prenatal & Postpartum Mental Health
Education and conversations around depression, anxiety, emotional well-being, and reducing stigma.
  • Advocating for Yourself in Medical Spaces
Understanding patient rights, recognizing when concerns are not being taken seriously, and learning how to speak up and seek additional support.
  • Access to Supportive Postpartum Care
Highlighting services such as in-home postpartum visits, visiting nurse programs, postpartum doulas, and community-based care that meets mothers where they are.
