SAMSAT CAMP: PC Build: Intro to CompTIA [7th-12th grade]
PC Build Camp will introduce the fundamentals of IT using core ideas in CompTIA . Campers will learn to explain PC hardware & basic IT tasks
Join us for a half-day camp at SAMSAT, The San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology.
PC Build: Intro to CompTIA Camp introduces students to the fundamentals of IT using the same core ideas found in CompTIA A+, with a strong focus on practical skills. By the end of camp, campers can confidently explain PC hardware, perform basic IT tasks.
Students will be able to:
- know what each computer part does—CPU, RAM, storage, GPU, motherboard, and power supply—and how they work together
- know how to practice safe handling, proper tool use, and anti-static habits while working with real computer components
- know the basics of building and upgrading a PC, including connections, airflow, and clean cable management
- learn entry-level troubleshooting techniques for common issues like no boot, no display, slow performance, and overheating
- get a beginner-friendly overview of networking basics, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and internet troubleshooting tips
The camp sessions will be held at the David Monroe Education Center (5035 SW 36th St, San Antonio, TX 78226).
Must be a rising 7th-12th grader.
A snack will be provided, but please remember to bring your own water bottle.
Camp hours: 12:15 PM – 3 PM, Monday through Friday.
Early drop-off, up to 30 minutes before the start time, is permitted.
