19th Annual Fire Hose Race Supporting No Ordinary Camps Burn Camps Program
Join us for a fun, high-energy race that supports an incredible cause.
No Ordinary Camps will carry on the 43-year legacy of the Burn Camps Program with support from Children’s Hospital Colorado. The core staff, mission, and programs will remain in place to ensure that the Burn Camp continues to serve as a place of healing, joy, and belonging. No Ordinary Camps, a pediatric burn camp program, provides life-changing support to burn survivors, helping them heal physically and emotionally through medical expertise and therapeutic recreation. Proceeds from this event will ensure that no child is turned away due to financial circumstances and help sustain year-round programming that empowers burn survivors to build confidence, friendships, and hope.
One of the most exciting events supporting this program is the Fire Hose Race. This unique race features 30+ teams of five skiers, each spaced along a 50-foot fire hose. Teams work together to navigate a 15-gate giant slalom course while carrying the hose. Adding to the challenge, every team member must wear a bunker coat and a fire helmet. Teams may consist of skiers, snowboarders, or a mix of both. Each team completes two runs, and the fastest single run time wins the event. The victorious team is awarded the coveted traveling Fire Hose Race Trophy to display until the next year's competition.

This thrilling event directly supports the Burn Camps Program. With every $2,250 raised, 100% of the cost to send one child to a week-long summer camp is covered. These camps are life-changing experiences that empower children to regain confidence, connect with peers who have shared similar experiences, and embrace new challenges in a supportive environment.
