<h3>About the Keynote Speaker</h3>As we enter the alarming future of AI, Deborah Pardes will show writers how to forge a path not using bits and bytes but rather honing your own unique Authentic Instict. She's spent the last 6 years listening to 110,000 conversations and engaging in over 30,000 of them. She’s passionate about working with writers to capture the trust and imaginations of their readers, by leveraging human conversations to support the uniqueness of their work. The talk will include some breakout sessions for participants to experiment with dialogue between each other with some prompts to collaborate and more deeply explore this concept.<h3>Get warmed up with a powerful MLK Day write-in</h3>Prior to Deborah Pardes taking the stage, we will host a write-in themed around Martin Luther King Day. Set aside some time to transform your thoughts about social justice into poems, stories, or essays. Not sure what to write? They met informally until 1909, when the Club was founded, with Austin Lewis as its first president. The Berkeley Branch is the founding branch of the statewide <a href="http://calwriters.org/" title="http://calwriters.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Club</a>, which now has <a href="http://calwriters.org/branches/branch-information/" title="http://calwriters.org/branches/branch-information/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">19 branches</a> and around 2000 members throughout California. We are the third oldest writers’ club in the country, celebrating over a century serving Bay Area writers.The CWC is a nonprofit professional organization open to writers in every genre and at every level of experience, from novice to published. Our mission is to educate writers of all abilities in the craft and business of writing.
