Join NYC H2O, RISE, NOAA and New York Sea Grant for a clean beaches 101 virtual workshop! This workshop will focus on informing community members about the ecology of Jamaica Bay, the impact of marine debris, and bills in the NY State legislature intended to reduce marine debris and promote sustainable local beaches.

We will cover the ecological and social value of Jamaica Bay and discuss the various methods for waste disposal to avoid litter at the Bay. The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) will also provide an overview of waste reduction bills in NY State.

We are thankful to be joined by our amazing speakers, Jeanne DuPont, Founder and Executive Director at RISE, Dr. Brett Branco, Executive Director of the Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay, and Patrick McClellan of the NYLCV.
