On Tuesday, May 5, 12, 19 and June 2

6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Enjoy painting with a variety of tools and explore techniques with freedom and ease while focusing on the joy of the creative process.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Build confidence working with paint and tools
  • Gain basic knowledge of color relationships
  • Understand simple compositional principles
  • Explore intuitive and spontaneous approaches to painting

Course Format

  • Short demonstrations
  • Guided exercises and open studio time
  • Individual exploration

Age Group: 12 and up

All levels are welcome

$160

Supplies: a $20 fee payable directly to Sarah

Supplies provided

  • Acrylic and oil pastels
  • Brushes of various sizes
  • Palette or disposable plates
  • Painting surfaces (paper, canvas, or panels)
  • Water containers, rags, paper towels

About Sarah

Sarah Barzmehri studied fine arts at the renowned art school in Paris, France (Ècole Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris), and Graphic Design at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She’s an accomplished artist, designer and educator. Through art, she gives form to her innermost feelings and unspoken thoughts. Sarah has been teaching adults and children for more than a decade, encouraging a free-spirited approach to creating from the unconscious.
