Yin Immersion: For the Water Element & Winter's Wisdom

Rachel specializes in a style of teaching called Yin Meridian Meditation. In this class you can expect to hold postures for longer periods of time in meditative stillness and deep relaxation. The healing effects of this practice take place deep within the connective tissues, the joints, the energy channels, and the subconscious and emotional body for newfound freedoms in body and mind. In the season of Winter, we are tending to the Water element within and our relationship with fear, chronic anxiety, willpower, and spiritual strength/stamina. This practice will focus on the kidneys, adrenals, and the reproductive system, which are the physical organs related to this element. The class will be tailored to soften deep seated tension and stress patterns that relate to these organs and energy channels within the body. The Water element holds the spirit of our Will, which ignites a fire within that keeps us feeling strong, steady, capable, and inspired during challenging times. This immersive class invites the body to release unresolved emotions stored within the tissues, deep seated patterns of anxiety, stress or other restrictive disharmonies through gentle asana, stillness, breath, and awareness. Aromatherapy will be woven in to enhance the practice while supporting seasonal wellness. Class will close with a short neck/scalp massage while integrating the benefits of your practice in a deep and restful Savasana. Seasonal tea will be available to sip on after class if you would like to savor a few more moments integrating the practice.
