Open Mic Night
Practice your performing chops and meet other up-and-coming musicians at Stages Open Mic Night.
Open Mic is an opportunity for you to practice your performance chops, build confidence, share your talents with a supportive audience and network with other up-and-coming musicians in our beautiful Julian S. Smith Performance Hall. Stages' Open Mic Night happens the second Thursday of every other month, hosted by Baltimore's electrifying entertainer Tom Starr.
- Solo artists, small groups & full bands welcome
- Grand piano, drumset, and full backline available
- Pre-recorded audio (backing tracks, etc) is not permitted
- Vocalists must have an accompanist
- No spoken word
- 1-2 songs per artist, depending on number of performers
Due to limited seating, performers and guests must RSVP in advance.
All performers should still arrive by 6 PM to claim your reservation and spot on the list. Performance spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Music begins at 6:30 PM.

Tom Starr is a local Baltimore guitarist and regionally touring musician with 1000 shows played in the past few years, including at notable venues such as Artscape, Ramshead Live, Washington Nationals Stadium, the National Mall, National Harbor, National Press Club, and The Smithsonian Museum. He is the bandleader for touring rock and roll band YUTZI, as well as premier wedding & event band; The Tom Starr Band. He also performs as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter.
Stages Music Arts is Baltimore's Premier Music School and Recording Studio located in Cockeysville, MD transforming lives through the power of music. We serve students of all ages and professional musicians from local DMV artists to international superstars.
