STORY/BIOOne day while working as a CPS Investigator and after a long day in the field I was emotionally exhausted from seeing all the trauma and abuse. I came back to the office, slumped down at my desk, put my head down, and started crying and when I lifted my head I had a pen in my hand. And the first thing I wrote was. “What Good Is My Masters Degree If I Can’t Be The Master Of Me” After that everything came pouring out of me. All my trauma and abuse, all my hurt and pain. I’ve been writing ever since and I made a vow that day that I would be vulnerable and transparent so that I could inspire other men and women that it's okay to share your heart.Mike Guinn Entertainment was born and. <p>Join us 14th for the Tejas Festival's Annual Story Slam, hosted by the acclaimed poet, actor, and speaker Michael Guinn, a National Award winner. This exciting competition invites storytellers to share their original tales, each limited to five minutes. Participants will be evaluated by three judges based on originality, audience engagement, and energy. With just one round and one story per contestant, only one will emerge victorious. The event will be held at the Denton Women’s Club, located at 610 Oakland Street, Denton, TX 76201, from 10:45AM to 12:30 PM, and is open to all ages. Competitors must arrive by 10:30AM to secure their spot, with a trophy and $50 cash awaiting the winner. For more information, contact Mike at 972-704-5001.</p>
