Directions: Do not use the EventBrite map to get here, it will send you to the wrong location. Copy & Paste the GPS coordinates below in your mapping app to get there.

GPS Coordinates: 33.287500, -111.260778

US60 East Towards Superior, Turn left on Queen Valley Road, 1.7 miles to Hewitt Station Road, 1.5 miles to the Sign-in Table.

If you are coming from the Valley: After you see the exit for Florence Junction, merge into the left lane because you are going to take the next left. There will be a small green sign for Queen Valley with an arrow pointing left, but if you aren't looking for it, you will miss it. If you cross the railroad tracks, you went too far. If you are coming from Superior/Globe: make a right to Queen Valley after the railroad tracks. Look for our signs.

Come over to the sign-in table located under the green Natural Restorations shade canopy to sign in & get a free raffle ticket. Plan your route ahead of time!

Volunteers with OHV’s & 4x4’s: if you have an OHV or 4X4, this is a great opportunity to explore the area & help us remove scattered trash. If you have a truck or trailer, we could use your help hauling loads of trash to the dumpsters. Please bring sturdy work gloves, especially for stuff that has been used for target practice.

Non OHV/4-Wheel Drive Volunteers: You do not need an OHV (off-highway vehicle) or 4x4 to participate, the event is on dirt roads where low clearance vehicles may have difficulty, please use caution when driving out to this site. There are plenty of areas within walking distance of the staging area that need our help.

We will have designated 40-yard dumpsters for everyone to put their trash in so we can get an accurate weight of the amount of trash everyone helped remove.

What to wear: Check the forecast & dress accordingly. Please wear clothing & shoes that can get dirty, muddy, and possibly wet. Wear long pants, thick-sole & closed toe sturdy shoes (no flipflops/sandals), a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. *It's likely going to be cold when we get started, dress warm and use layers you can easily remove as it warms up.

What to bring: please bring a reusable water bottle or hydration backpack. We will have coolers with water & ice for you to refill and bottled water if anyone needs it. We will provide gloves, bags, trash grabbers, buckets, & rakes. You will likely be near your vehicle the entire time so you could bring a small cooler with snacks & cold beverages if you'd like.

If you bring your own tools, put some masking tape and your phone # on them so we can get them back to you if you get separated.

*If you have any allergies that you carry an epi-pen and antihistamines for, please do not forget to bring them with you. This is a wilderness area so it’s best to prepare for anything.

Snacks: We will have light snacks for volunteers, including fruit. Those with dietary restrictions may want to bring a snack. You will be near your vehicle the entire time & could put a small cooler in your vehicle for snacks & beverages.

Tonto Recreation Pass: You do NOT need one for this location.

Bathrooms: There are no bathroom services at Hewitt Station. The nearest bathroom is the gas station in Gold Canyon.

NR Merch: We will also have Natural Restorations branded t-shirts, htas, stickers, and patches available for a cash donation or card doatnion (we will have Starlink set up to take card donations). Your donations will help fund our 2026 Restoration Projects on the Tonto Natioanl Forest. Natural Restorations is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This project is financed in part by a grant from Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
