The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

The Sound Room

Saxophonist Patrick Wolff Patrick Wolff is a jazz saxophone and clarinet player with a long history in the jazz scenes of New York City and San Francisco. His playing has been characterized by a focus on lyricism and an embrace of the whole lineage of jazz styles. Drummer Matt WIlson is widely recognized as one of the greatest drummers and bandleaders in jazz today, and is a veteran of the bands of Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden, Dena Derose, and more. United in their passions for the B side tunes, obscure musician's musicians, and in their commitment to explore and swing hard at the boundaries of post bop jazz. Wolff and Wilson have shared the stage at numerous venues over the last 15 years, from Smalls in NYC to the Stanford Jazz Festival.
