Join us for SheJumps Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol, a day camp at Mt Hood Meadows on April 4th, 2026.
Join us for SheJumps Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol, a day camp at at Mt Hood Meadows on Saturday, April 4, 2026! Girls will learn mountain safety and first aid while working with the strong women of the Mt Hood Meadows Ski Patrol. This event is intended for intermediate to expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8-15. We welcome all girls- transgender and cisgender, as well as non-binary youth to participate in this event.
This SheJumps Wild Skills event is structured as a full-day camp experience. Parents/legal guardians drop off participants for the day, who are then split into teams based on their skier ability. Throughout the day, participants are taught a range of outdoor skills that are utilized by ski patrollers to keep the mountain safe. We will work alongside patrollers and volunteers to learn more about the many facets of mountain safety and first aid.
Cost: this event costs $50 and doesn’t include the cost of a lift ticket. Participants are responsible for supplying their own lift ticket or season pass for the day. Limited scholarships are available to help cover the cost of event registration.
Schedule for the Day*
On the day of the event, you’ll check in at registration which will be open from 9:00-9:30am (check-in location to be shared closer to the event date). At registration, you will meet up with your team for the day. Teams will consist of 1 ski patroller, 2-3 SheJumps volunteers, and 6-8 participants of similar ski ability.
At 9:30am, we will start the day with an all-team morning meeting covering ski patrol basics, weather, and our plan for the day. From there, teams will break out and proceed to their various stations throughout the mountain. Stations cover topics including first aid, mountain safety, toboggan handling, weather, snow science, and avalanche rescue. Along the way there is free skiing, surprises, and games!
LUNCH: We will break for lunch at 12:00 PM. Please note that lunch is NOT included, so participants should pack a lunch (can be stashed in the check-in location), or parents should plan to bring them lunch at 12:00. SheJumps volunteers will be supervising lunch. Participants are not allowed to check themselves out for lunch, however, parents can check their children out.
After lunch, participants will meet the Mt Hood Meadows avalanche dogs! Following the avy dog demo, there will be final stations and more free skiing.
Pickup details: Pickup is at 3:15, and parents should plan to pick up participants in the same location as check-in (location will be shared closer to the event date). Please note, participants must be checked out by their parent/guardian unless parents/guardians communicate during registration that their child can check themselves out.

Skier/Boarder Ability Level: This event is intended for intermediate to expert skiers & snowboarders. As part of the registration process, you will be asked a variety of questions about how confident the participant is on particular runs at Mt Hood Meadows to help us determine which group they are best suited for. Be honest about your skier ability when filling out registration questions. We will find a group for everyone in the intermediate-advanced range!
Lunch & snacks:
- Lunch is not included in this event.
- SheJumps will provide a small amount of snacks. If your child has food allergies or specific snacks they like, please have them bring their snacks with them.
Parking:
- A Sno-Park permit is required to park at Meadows and can be purchased at various local retailers or online at https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/vehicle/sno_park_permits.aspx.
- The Meadows parking lots fill up early on weekends! The main lot can fill up by 8:00am, and other lots regularly fill up by 8:30am. Be sure to arrive early to secure parking and allow yourself time to get to event check-in.
- There is a shuttle available from various locations. Please take a visit www.skihood.com for details about public transportation options.
Amenities: Gendered bathrooms are available, as well as a private family bathroom

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund on the ticket price. Optional donations made during registration will not be refunded.
Cancellations made within 3-6 days in advance of the event date will receive a 50% refund. Optional donations made during registration will not be refunded.
No refunds will be given for cancellations within 48 hours of the event, as this does not give us adequate time to fill the spot.
