M2R2 Military Marriage Couples Retreat April 24-26th

Welcome! This weekend is a time to focus on your marriage and the unique challenges that couples within the service are presented with.

These retreats are for Active Duty Service members who are married. Childcare is NOT included in this weekend, the focus is on the marriage.The goal is to help couples prepare for the impact of leaving the military, and how it effects the couple and family. Transitioning from the military can have a significant impact on the relationship, and many don’t anticipate or understand the causes behind it.

On this retreat they will encounter:

• A beautiful environment to create memories
• All *expense paid* weekend for the couple, which includes rooms and all meals (excluding dinner for date night on Saturday)
• Relevant content for strengthening the marriage for the upcoming transition of leaving the military
• An opportunity Saturday evening to go near the beach or downtown Carlsbad to reconnect as a couple
• A "thank you" for your sacrifice of service.

Content to be covered:

The aim of the content to be covered is to prepare the couple for the upcoming stresses of the transition. Most of the information will cover the unique demands that are placed on the relationship upon leaving the Military culture. These retreats are meant to help the marriage anticipate the stresses and to equip them with tools navigate the difficulties when they arise. Unfortunately, the stresses of the transition create a significant divorce rate post military service. This retreat will make you informed attendees of the other issues that create common problems.

*This is a complimentary weekend that has been paid for by generous donors, we ask that you ensure that you can COMMIT BEFORE you sign up so that the space does not go unfilled. We ask that you commit to the dates PRIOR to registering, because a lot of planning and preparation goes into executing each retreat. We keep our retreat sizes small, around 10 families total so we can give adequate time to making it personal to each attendee. We also want to be the best stewards of our donor's financial generosity which allows a special and transformative weekend to take place.
