Anywhere: Gratitude for First Responders thru 2.22.26

Anywhere: Gratitude for First Responders thru 2.22.26

Overview

Children will practice gratitude by creating messages of thanks to first responders in our community.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:

Ages 6-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.

What you'll be doing:

It’s important to practice gratitude because it reminds us of all the good things in our lives. Children will explore the power of gratitude and then put their learnings into practice by creating messages of thanks to first responders in our community. These messages will make first responders from the Columbus Division of Fire and the Columbus Division of Police feel appreciated and let them know kids in their community care about them.

When you'll be doing it:

This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!

This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on February 22nd. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm February 20th-22nd at a Seeds of Caring Ambassador's home in Clintonville, Upper Arlington, Grove City, or Lewis Center. Addresses are provided in the service packet.

How it all works:

Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.

Is this your first Seeds of Caring Anywhere Project? Check out this video to learn how it all works.

The meaning-making:

Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on gratitude and kindness.

Approximate Cost:

No supply cost. Use crafts supplies on hand to create messages of gratitude.

Why you'll be invited to donate:

Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.

This service opportunity is made possible through the generous support of The Center for HumanKindness and The Walter Foundation.
