Omaha Freedom Festival: A vibrant Juneteenth celebration, family-friendly daytime events, evening concert + community fireworks

Omaha Freedom Festival — Daytime at Miller Park

  • The free daytime portion of the festival (12:00 PM–5:00 PM) will take place at Miller Park: 2707 Redick Ave, Omaha, NE 68111.
  • As always, the daytime events are completely free with a “Day Pass” (digital or physical) required for entry.

✅ What’s Included (Free Daytime Activities)

During the 12:00–5:00 PM block, attendees can expect:

  • Free lunch for attendees — meal ticket upon entrance: includes a hamburger or hot-dog, chips, drink; plus optional popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones (while supplies last).
  • Kidz Zone & Family Activities — rock-climbing wall, carnival games, video-game truck, a virtual reality showcase, arts & crafts, sidewalk chalk, bracelet/button making, photo-booth with printed takeover photos, and more.
  • Raffles & Giveaways / Prizes — hourly drawings: children under 15 eligible for bike + helmet raffles; other items such as laptops have been raffled (per previous festivals).
  • Health & Community Services — free health screenings, vaccine station, community resource- and outreach-booths from local service providers (health, education, social services, etc.).
  • Live Entertainment & Cultural Activities — local musicians and artists, community-resource booths, heritage and history programming, educational booths and community-resource access.

🍔 Food, Refreshments & What’s Free vs. Paid

  • During the day, attendees receive a free meal ticket upon entrance (hamburger or hot dog, chips, drink) — while supplies last.
  • Additional giveaways like popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones are also offered free when available.
  • Food & beverage vendors are on-site — but vendor food beyond the free offerings is generally available for purchase.
  • Free refreshments in the Kidz Zone are made possible by sponsors and community partners.
