Practice How You Doula (PHYD) is NBDA®’s monthly, hands-on skills workshop for doulas and birth workers. In this live Zoom session, you will walk through one focused skill, see a step-by-step demonstration, and have space to practice with guidance.
This space is designed to help you feel more confident and prepared in real birth and postpartum situations. We take one topic at a time so you can slow down, ask questions, and try things out in a safe, supportive community.
Each session includes:
• A short teaching on why the skill matters for families
• A live demonstration of the technique or scenario
• Guided practice so you can follow along
• Time for Q&A and real-world application
Practice How You Doula is great for:
• Working doulas who want to sharpen their tools
• Newly trained or newly certified doulas
• NBDA® trainees who want extra support
• Curious birth workers exploring hands-on skills
Come ready to move, learn, and practice. Cameras on are encouraged, but you are welcome to participate in the way that feels safest for you.
