Do I need to stay for the entire marathon?

Accepted Answer

No. Each hour is a completely self-contained directing session with a different ensemble and a new audience-selected scene. You can attend one, several, or all twelve.

How do the tickets work?

Choose the option that fits how long you want to stay:

Single Show – $10
One hour-long session.

Flex Pass – $25
Any three sessions.

All-Day – $40
Come and go all day.

Livestream – Free
Registration required.

Can I decide which hours to attend after buying a Flex Pass or All-Day Pass?

Yes. You do not need to select shows in advance. Just arrive a few minutes before the hour you want to attend and check in.

Will late seating be allowed?

Accepted Answer

To preserve the flow of the directing process, seating will only be available **between shows.** Doors will close at the start of each hour-long session.

Question 5

Are the scenes the same for every show?

Accepted Answer

No. Each hour offers three scene options (comedy, drama, classical text, or new work). The audience selects one, and the scene is directed from scratch with that hour’s ensemble.

Question 6

I’m an actor/director/educator. Is this useful for training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. This marathon is a transparent look at how directing choices are made quickly, collaboratively, and under pressure. You’ll see a dozen different approaches unfold in real time.

Question 7

Is this appropriate for students or teens?

Accepted Answer

The event is recommended for ages 13 and up. Some scenes may include strong language or mature themes, depending on the material selected. Theatre students, emerging directors, and educators will find the sessions especially valuable.

Will the marathon be livestreamed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Remote attendance is free, but registration is required to receive the link.

Can I bring food or leave between sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You may come and go between shows. Food is allowed discreetly, as long as it doesn’t disrupt the session.

Seating is general admission. Early arrival is recommended for each session you wish to attend.
