Q: What is the First Friday Readathon?

A: It’s a casual, community-focused reading event where participants spend two hours alternating between 20-minute reading sprints and 5–10 minute discussion breaks. There’s no assigned book, theme, or genre—bring whatever you’re currently reading!

Q: Who can attend?

A: The February 6, 2026 kickoff session is open to everyone via Eventbrite. Future monthly sessions will be exclusive to Historical Readers Club members.

Q: Do I need to read a specific book or genre?

Accepted Answer

A: No! You can read any book you like, from historical fiction to memoirs, fantasy, or nonfiction. The goal is simply to enjoy uninterrupted reading time and connect with other book lovers.

Q: Do I have to turn on my camera or speak?

Accepted Answer

A: No. Cameras are optional, and discussion is informal. You can participate as much or as little as you like.

Q: How do I access the Zoom link?

A: That’s fine! You’re welcome to join for part of the session and leave whenever you need.

A: The February 6 kickoff is free and open to all. Future sessions will require membership in the Historical Readers Club.
