Color of Fashion Teen Workshop: Buttoned Up

Museum of Contemporary Art DenverDenver, CO
Saturday, May 16  •  11 AM - 2 PM
Overview

Join Color of Fashion and designer Rachel Marie Hurst for a shirt upcycling workshop. Ages 14 to 18.

Reimagine the classic button-up through creativity and sustainability. In this hands-on workshop, designer Rachel Marie Hurst will guide participants in transforming pre-owned button-up shirts into refreshed, fashion-forward pieces. Through cutting, reconstructing, and creative detailing, students will explore how small design changes can completely redefine a garment.

This workshop encourages experimentation, individuality, and mindful fashion practices while offering practical upcycling techniques that can be applied long after the session ends. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to create.

We encourage participants to bring any button-ups they would like to adapt or upcycle!
