Color of Fashion Teen Workshop: Denim Reimagined
Join Color of Fashion and Olivia McCann of Ephemeral Concrete for an upcycling workshop with denim. Ages 14 to 18.
Give your denim new life! In this hands-on workshop, designer Olivia McCann of Ephemeral Concrete will teach you how to transform pre-loved jeans and jackets into bold, expressive pieces of wearable art. You will embellish jeans with a combination of sewing on scrap patches of fabric, use fabric markers to draw out designs, and adorn with safety pins.
We encourage participants to bring any denim items they would like to adapt or upcycle. All other materials will be provided.

Olivia McCann of Ephemeral Concrete
Olivia McCann is a Denver-based artist and upcycle designer behind Ephemeral Concrete. She creates one-of-a-kind garments and artworks using second hand materials like clothing, thrifted frames, canvases, and vintage magazines. Through techniques such as bleach dyeing, block printing, and experimental embellishment, her work blends sustainability with bold, expressive design.
Working across fashion, collage, and abstract painting, she explores shape, layering, color, and playful motifs like checkerboards and organic, wavy forms. She sells her one-of-a-kind garments in shops in Colorado including Strawberry Mountain, Apocalypse, FTF Goods, Fever Dream Vintage, Overkill, and a shop in Miami called Nomadia. Inspired by the local art, fashion, and music scenes, she views her practice as an evolving space for experimentation, collaboration, and self-expression.
