Seattle's sister city Bergen is Norway's second largest city with a population of about 272,000 and is a cosmopolitan center of trade, finance, shipping, oil production, fishing, research, and education. The city is famous for the Bergen International Festival of music and arts and has a major university and several internationally recognized research institutions. Bergen, a city of seven mountains and gateway to the fjords and Europe, shares many ties with Seattle, a city of seven hills and gateway to Alaska and Asia.

National Nordic Museum

Please join us for the 2026 Seattle-Bergen Sister City Annual Meeting, where we will review our activities in 2025, present our work plan for 2026, and elect a new board of officers. We will also present the exclusive<a href="https://www.sylvsmidja.com/collections/crossings" title="https://www.sylvsmidja.com/collections/crossings" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Crossings Jewelry Collection</a> from our partners at Sylvsmidja in Voss, Norway, available for purchase in the Museum store.Afterwards, enjoy a cup of coffee with members and friends at the Freya Café or tour the exhibit "<a href="" title="" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">New Nordic: Cuisine, Aesthetics and Place"</a> from the National Museum in Oslo or admire the beautiful collage artworks by local artist Eva Isaksen with her exhibition "<a href="https://nordicmuseum.org/exhibitions/eva-isaksen-shapes-for-fall" title="https://nordicmuseum.org/exhibitions/eva-isaksen-shapes-for-fall" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Shapes for Fall</a>" on display in Fjord Hall.Everyone is welcome!
