Explore local trails and connect with fellow nature lovers on 4-8 mile mostly moderate difficulty hikes around the Bay. Good physical fitness with the ability to hike a minimum of 5 miles that may include hilly terrain required.

Walktober: Westside Walk to Sunset Dunes

Route: This October, we're celebrating San Francisco's first Walktober -- month-long, city-wide walking festival. Join us for a walk from West Portal to Sunset Dunes, SF's new oceanside promenade.We'll visit Saint Francis Wood's hidden stairways, Stern Grove's redwoods, and Pine Lake as we head to the Pacific.Our stroll along Sunset Dunes takes us past Big Art Loop installations, sweeping ocean views, and even a piano you can play.

Meet time: 10 a.m., rolling out at 10:05 a.m.
Meet location: Meet in front of the West Portal Library, 190 Lenox Way, SF.
Details: The hike is about 5.5 miles. Terrain is mixed: city streets and alleys, park paths, some stairways, and the 2-mile Sunset Dunes promenade.Hike duration is approximately 2.5 hours. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need. Restrooms along the route. Heavy rain cancels.

Note: The hike is one-way, starting at West Portal Station and finishing at the N-Judah turnaround at La Playa.

About Clubs @ Manny's - Manny's Clubs are discussion groups that convene once a month for 90 minutes to discuss a wide variety of topics. Led by community moderators, the groups are meant to bring together ideas and build community. Groups may exchange ideas, discuss specific works or decide to take a field trip. Actionable outcome is not required but is encouraged. Participants are asked to make a 6 month or yearly commitment. Moderators will be in direct contact with participants after subscription purchase.
