Learn Georgia’s reporting requirements and how to recognize, respond to, and report child abuse in our Virtual Mandated Reporter Training.

The Virtual Mandated Reporter Training introduces participants to Georgia’s reporting requirements and offers guidance on recognizing signs of abuse, responding to disclosures, and making an accurate, timely report.

As the lead council in Cobb County for <a href="https://www.cobbcollaborative.org/pca-cobb" title="https://www.cobbcollaborative.org/pca-cobb" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Positive Childhood Alliance (PCA) Georgia</a>, Cobb Collaborative offers a monthly Virtual Mandated Reporter Training. Child-serving professionals and volunteers may encounter situations where they suspect child abuse or receive a disclosure from a child. Yet fear of reporting, uncertainty about the signs of maltreatment, and unclear organizational policies can create barriers to making a report.This training equips participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to fulfill their legal responsibilities.During a Mandated Reporter Training, participants will: <ul><li>Understand Georgia’s laws and requirements for mandated reporters.</li><li>Learn how to respond when a child discloses abuse.</li><li>Clarify the mandated reporter’s role in reporting suspected maltreatment.</li><li>Identify physical and behavioral indicators of the recognized types of abuse and neglect in Georgia.</li><li>Recognize groups of children who may be at higher risk.</li><li>Review the steps necessary to make a report of suspected abuse or neglect.</li></ul> Who is this event for: This training is for child-serving professionals, volunteers, and community members seeking an introduction to Georgia’s mandated reporting requirements and the signs of child abuse and neglect.
