Cultural Autism Studies at Yale (CASY, ethnography project led by Dr. Dawn Prince-Hughes) is delighted to welcome Chuck Hall on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 12-1 p.m. EDT (9 a.m. PDT, 5 p.m. BST, 6 p.m. CEST). There is no cost to attend, and international participants are welcome.

TITLE: Autism and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

DESCRIPTION: While precise statistics are hard to nail down, we know there is a significant co-occurrence of Autism and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). The speaker will share his lived experience of managing both Autism and CPTSD, share research he has done to increase his understanding of the intersection of both, and personal management strategies he uses.

BRIEF BIO: Chuck Hall is a late-identified Autistic person who came to his Autism identification through seeking mental health support for what turned out to be complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). Prior to learning he is Autistic and a person living with CPTSD from childhood, Chuck enjoyed a good personal life and a successful corporate career and started his own executive coaching and organizational consulting business in 2007. He holds a Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a certified peer specialist for mental health. He and his wife, Amy, have three adult children and two active dogs. They live in Conyers, Georgia, after spending most of their lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. ABOUT Cultural Autism Studies at Yale (CASY): An 'ethnography' is an exploration of how a group of people express themselves in a cultural way. Autistic people have a growing kind of culture, and each autistic experience is a vital part of it. Dr. Dawn Prince-Hughes is an anthropologist, ethnographer, primatologist, and author who is autistic. Join her for an exploration of the importance of autistic self-expression and the culture that grows from it. Those who wish to share their content are free to do so on our private Facebook groups, organically contributing to a growing autistic culture: CASY Cultural Autism Studies at Yale (recommended for autistic adults) and SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY FOR AUTISM (recommended for allies, professionals, and family members).
