Learn the essentials of federal tax responsibilities and smart strategies to help your start-up business succeed.

This virtual class will provide start-up business owners with practical tools to navigate federal tax responsibilities. During this session, we will:

  • Explain the purpose of an Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Describe basic recordkeeping requirements for tax purposes
  • Define basic bookkeeping systems and accounting methods
  • Explain different types of business structures
  • Define the Sharing/Gig Economy
  • Offer guidance on choosing a paid tax professional


This free event is designed to empower new business owners with the knowledge to make informed decisions, build a strong financial foundation, and set their businesses up for long-term success.

Natalya Vasko,

Stakeholder Liaison




Natalya Vasko serves as a Stakeholder Liaison with the IRS Communication and Liaison Division in Tampa, Florida. In her role, she collaborates with a wide range of taxpayer community groups and small business resource partners, delivering key outreach messages and fostering meaningful connections.

A first-generation immigrant from Eastern Europe, Natalya holds a Ph.D. in Economics. Before joining the IRS, she worked in the education field and gained valuable experience in the private sector, where she ran her own business.

Natalya is a proud mother of two and remains actively involved in her community.
