Earrings as Gifts - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop

Artascope StudiosYarmouth, ME
Saturday, May 23  •  1:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Overview

Learn how to make your own earrings in this Saturday workshop.

Saturday, May 23rd from 1:30PM-7:30PM

Participants will be guided through metalsmithing basics including tool use and safety. We will go over selecting materials and a variety of ways to cut, shape, texture and solder to create your earrings. There will be an option to use powder coating to add a pop of color to your pieces. Make up to four pairs of earrings from studs, to hoops and dangling shapes.

This course has a $40 materials fee which includes brass & copper sheet and wire, shaped copper stampings to customize, sterling silver for ear wires and some other goodies. Photo represents a variety of options for earring styles that can be made with class materials. Earring cards & boxes will be available if you are making gifts. This workshop is Beginner level.

$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The estimated $40* materials fee is paid to the instructor by cash or Venmo at the beginning of the workshop.

*NOTE: This is an approximate cost and actual kit cost may be different due to the metals market fluctuation in 2026.

NOTE: Eventbrite charges non-refundable processing fees for online payments and now displays these fees in the total ticket price shown on this event listing.

(For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.)

We will have a 30-minute break, so feel free to bring a snack.

Instructor: Kim Round got her degree in art at Florida State University and taught jewelry workshops in Tallahassee, FL before making the move back home to Maine. She has been teaching Beginning Metalsmithing and other workshops at Artascope since 2016 and is thrilled to be part of a friendly & creative community. She is a member of the Maine Crafts Association and her work can be found at the Center for Maine Craft and Archipelago/The Island Institute store.
