"Her-Story" Wood Type Posters - Sat, March 7, 2026

By The International Printing Museum

Overview

A special letterpress workshop in honor of Women's History Month with Lorna Turner

Celebrate Women's "HerStory" Month at the Printing Museum!

Workshop participants will learn about the history about (of)letterpress printing,(;) how to select wood type from the Museum’s collection, lock up a form in a chase, and print their own unique posters.

For this specially-themed "Women's HerStory" TypeSlam, you're encouraged to share your love of letterpress printing with female friends! Maybe that means you'll invite them to register for the workshop with you, that you'll make a poster for them, or both!

At the end of the class there will be a print exchange, in which you will take away a portfolio of prints made during the workshop. This workshop is hands-on and very active. All levels welcome!
