Houston &amp; Bleecker Streets) in Manhattan, NYC. <a href="http://bobholman.com" title="http://bobholman.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bob Holman</a>, founder of the Bowery Poetry Club, welcomes the Nuyorican Slam that he started 35 years ago! Weekly on Monday evenings, in-person. Tickets: $20 in advance/online or at the door. The list is based on a first-come first-serve basis.- Slam takes place from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.- More information at <a href="https://www.bowerypoetry.com/slam" title="https://www.bowerypoetry.com/slam" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.bowerypoetry.com/slam</a> HOW DOES IT WORK? - Poets have 3 MINUTES to perform one original poem per round (any topic of their choosing). - Scores range from a 0.0 to a 10.0 -- judges are randomly chosen from the audience. - No musical accompaniment, no props on stage. - Two rounds -- the top poets from the first round advance to the second round. - Winner (combined score from both rounds) receives $20 cash and gets an invite to compete in the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's monthly Final Friday Slam at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater.NOTICE: By attending and/or participating in events by the Nuyorican Poets Cafe at the Bowery Poetry Club, you acknowledge that your voice and/or likeness may be recorded and/or photographed.
