Science Comedy Night, a one-of-a-kind show that blends science with stand-up comedy, is coming back to SPRUNG! Comedy Festival. Hosted by science journalist, and comedian Kasha Patel, this show mixes fun with facts with stand up comedy.Kasha Patel is a stand-up comedian and journalist. She holds a chemistry and science journalism degree. She was named one of the “Best Undiscovered Comedians” in the U.S. by Thrillist magazine because of her unique voice that couples life as an Indian-American and her love for science. She gave a TEDx talk called “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu7yQIlJLUw" title="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu7yQIlJLUw" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sneaking Science into Stand-Up</a>,” where she shares a series of surprising revelations pulled from her analysis of more than 500 of her stand-up jokes. The goal has been to transform the industry by giving the mic to hilarious comedians who have been underrepresented on stage. Since our first show at Vicino's restaurant, we have brought big laughs to theatres, bars, swanky clubs, and people's homes. We now have regular shows at Busboys &amp; Poets and the Arts Barn as well as partnerships with the Montgomery Parks Department and at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre.
