How does Speed Dating Work?

Speed dating involves participants rotating through a series of brief, timed conversations with potential matches. After each interaction, participants mark down if they'd like to see the person again.

What will the ratio be like?

We always aim to maintain a 50:50 male to female ratio, but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up. This is why it is important let us know ASAP if you know you cannot make the event and to buy the appropriate ticket.

What should I talk about during the dates?

You can discuss various topics such as hobbies, interests, career aspirations, and travel experiences. It's essential to keep the conversation light and engaging while getting to know each other.

How long do the conversations last?

Typically, conversations last around 5-7 minutes, allowing participants enough time to get to know each other and decide if there's mutual interest.

What is the age range for this event?

This event is for singles in their 20's and 30's. You must be single and 21+ with valid ID. Don’t meet the age requirements? Keep an eye on our socials or sign up for our emails! We have many more events to come!

Are food and drink included?

No, for this event all food and drinks will need to be purchased yourself. While it is completely optional, we encourage you to grab a drink or food either from the bar or from a server!

How do I indicate if I’m interested in someone?

At the end of each conversation, you'll have a match card where you can indicate whether you're interested in seeing that person again. If both participants express interest, the organizers will facilitate further communication.

What happens after the speed dating event?

The following day by 7pm you will receive an email from GSC, which will indicate if you have any matches and their information

Garden State Connections, or GSC, is a new social club focused on hosting events that give people the opportunity to seek community and connect. The goal is to host a variety of events that serve people of various ages and interests. Had a bad experience? Tell us! Your comfort is our priority.
