4-day Camp For Students Entering Grades K-1 in Fall 2026

Get ready for four exciting days filled with exploration, discovery, creativity, and crawlies! In this hands-on camp, young explorers will dive into the amazing world of bugs, learning how insects help our planet by pollinating plants, recycling nutrients, and inspiring real-world inventions. Campers will observe and handle live insects, collect and record data like scientists, and design their own “super bugs” inspired by nature’s clever engineering.

Guided Activities

• Observe and handle live bugs and insects.
• Engineer a "super bug" by designing and constructing a unique bug model.
• Explore the bugs in and around Van Andel Institute, identifying and collecting data like a real scientist.
• Discover how bugs have changed human lives for the better through biomimicry.

Refund Policy:

• Full refunds will be given if requested more than 7 days before the start date of your camp.
• Partial refunds (50% tuition) will be given if requested 7 days or less of the start date of your camp.
