No. This is improvised stand-up. You're allowed to rehearse an acceptance speech for when you win best performer, but if those tears are fake WE'LL KNOW.

Is the venue ADA accessible?

Is there a prize?

The best performer will be chosen by the audience to win a JTT voucher toward food and drinks. Value $30. Other goodies may be included. Offer subject to change.

How do we vote?

Cast your choice anonymously from your phone using our web poll. It is linked on our site and the QR will be posted at the event. Once everyone has performed, the polls will open. After 5 minutes, we announce a winner. No private voting booths here, but you can use the bathroom stall, I guess.

Can I eat at the mic?

Absolutely! Just don't chew with your mouth open. Please support our venue and don't bring anything other than candy or water. JTT serves pizza, snacks, fries, dessert, and salad. You can drink beer, cocktails, wines, sodas, selzters, and other options.

Can I bring my pet?

Only service animals are allowed. It's not us, it's the feds.

Do you have a political affiliation?

No, but you're welcome to share your views with kindness and respect. We believe in freedom of expression, but we are a hate free mic. That means no punching down on marginalized and disenfranchised groups. If you need clarification, please reach out or see our code of conduct.

What is parking and transit like?

Parking is free on the street after 8pm, $1/hr before that. Some small paid lots are within a couple blocks. There is a cheap garage on Lenora & Western. We are about 4 blocks from major bus lines on 3rd and Bell. Located a half mile from the light rail station, ten minutes to walk or bus there.

What is the game like?

1. You give an improvised speech on a given topic to a random slideshow. Or 2. You and another person get microphones to comment and answer questions about a picture. You won't be expected to move around on stage or play a character, unless that's the energy you bring.
