Community Volunteer Day

Tregaron Conservancy is a 13-acre historic woodland garden located in the heart of the Cleveland Park and Woodley Park neighborhoods in Northwest DC. The Conservancy parkland is open to the public from dawn to dusk every day, free of charge. Entrances are at 3100 Macomb Street NW and 3031 Klingle Road NW. Join the Tregaron Conservancy for an invasive plant removal event led by Danna McCormick. Invasive plants are a major threat to our fragile forests. Stopping their spread helps allow native plants to thrive in the understory.Danna McCormick is a DC Master Naturalist, native plant advocate, and volunteer "weed warrior." She spends most weekends in Rock Creek removing invasives and training volunteers. Danna gives talks to community groups and garden clubs. She can be found on Instagram and iNaturalist at @rockcreekimages.This event is for ages 16+ and involves working on sloped terrain with gardening tools. We welcome both experienced and new gardeners/weed warriors! Gloves, equipment and training will be provided. Wear layers and bring water.
