ABOUT THE SHOW

KYL/D's final performances celebrate nearly three decades of groundbreaking artistry with a program that bridges the company’s beginnings to its culminating new creations. The evening traverses a sweeping emotional and cultural landscape—from the enduring resilience of the Tibetan people in The Land (2000) to the intimate reflection on immigrant identity in MY HOME? (2015, re-envisioned) and the joyous renewal of Spring 101 (2019). The world premieres of 17 Moves/For Gus and Fire Ritual Dance/Feng Huang Awakens embody KYL/D’s spirit of collaboration, rebirth, and transcendence—honoring both the discipline of modern dance and the deep wisdom of Eastern philosophies. Together, these works illuminate the company’s legacy of weaving profound humanity, social consciousness, and spiritual depth into motion—closing one chapter and awakening another.

KYL/D Ensemble: Weiwei Ma, Keila Pérez-Vega, Takashi Kanai, Kendall Niblett, Abby Donnenfeld, Angelica Nieves-Merced, Justin Viernes, and Karen Kao

Featured Guest Artists: Joe Small (Taiko) Pallabi Chakravorty (Soloist)
