This <a href="https://www.shejumps.org/wild-skills" title="https://www.shejumps.org/wild-skills" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SheJumps Wild Skills</a> event is structured as a full-day camp experience intended for intermediate to expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8-14. We welcome all women and girls-transgender and cisgender, as well as non-binary people to participate in this event. During the Junior Ski Patrol experience, participants will work closely with the local ski patrol community to learn mountain safety and first aid.<h3>Program Summary</h3>This SheJumps Wild Skills event is structured as a full-day camp experience, parents/legal guardians drop off, participants are split into teams based on their skier ability, and then rotate through different stations. Throughout the day, participants are taught a range of outdoor skills that are utilized by ski patrollers to keep the mountain safe. We will work alongside patrollers and volunteers to learn more about the many facets of mountain safety and first aid.Skier/Boarder Ability Level: This event is intended for intermediate to expert skiers &amp; snowboarders. As part of the registration process, you will be asked a variety of questions about how confident the skier/rider is on particular runs at Jackson Hole to help us determine which team they are best suited for.Cost: $50 for season pass holders &amp; $105 for kids needing a lift ticket <h3>Schedule for the Day*</h3>On the day of the event, you’ll check in at registration beginning at 9:00am and meet up with your team for the day. The teams will consist of 1 ski patroller, 2-3 SheJumps volunteers, and 8 participants of similar ski ability.At 9:30 am, we will start the day with an all teams morning meeting covering ski patrol basics, weather, and our agenda for the day.From there, teams will break out and proceed to their various stations throughout the mountain. Stations cover topics including first aid, mountain safety, toboggan use, snowmobile safety, gear caches, weather, and avalanche basics &amp; prevention. Along the way, there will be free skiing, surprises, and games, of course!Lunch is included in the day and all teams will eat together in a reserved area. After lunch, all teams will proceed to the Avalanche Dog Demo where handlers will educate teams about the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort avalanche dog program and demonstrate a burial rescue situation.The afternoon will wrap up with the remainder of station visits and completion certificates handed out at 3:30 pm.<h3>Timeline:</h3><ul><li>9:00 Registration Opens - Location: Olympic Sports Plaza</li><li>9:30 Morning Meeting</li><li>10:00 Morning Stations</li><li>12:00 Lunch, LUNCH IS INCLUDED IN EVENT TICKET</li><li>1:00 Avalanche Dog Demo - All teams</li><li>2:00 Afternoon Stations</li><li>3:30 Certificates/Check-Out - Location: Olympic Sports Plaza</li></ul>*Schedule &amp; Stations are subject to change.Lunch: Lunch is included!
